A leadership development program has more chance of success when development is driven from the top and aligned with the organisations business strategy. Organisations and businesses play a significant role in the leadership development of their employees.
Over the past few years COVID has challenged organisations and businesses, often working in periods that are volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous. We have also seen increases in people under pressure as organisations and businesses work towards ensuring that they continue to provide safe psychological workplaces because it is their legal responsibility. However, we have also seen the best in people, organisations and businesses. People have shown support and innovation, leading to creative ideas as we adapt to new ways in our ever changing environment. COVID-19 has highlighted how quickly our environment changes and the importance of psychological safety and mental health in the workplace. Even though leadership, psychological safety and mental health has been discussed, this shift in thinking can been challenging.
